We are very pleased to announce our 2021 Nebraska Junior Golf team for this season. The following guys and gals will play a key role in providing you with memorable golfing experiences this summer. We are all excited to see everyone on the course very soon. Get to know our team members below!
Carson Tatro
Carson Tatro is from Geneva, Nebraska where he attended Fillmore Central High School. During his high school career, he participated in several sports throughout the year. This is where his love for the game of golf developed. He recently completed his first year of college while majoring in PGA Golf Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Carson still enjoys playing football, basketball, and spending time with family and friends in his free time.
Dylan Beck
Dylan Beck was born in Missoula, Montana, where he attended school at Loyola Sacred Heart High School for his freshman and sophomore years. In Montana, Dylan’s golf team finished first at state his freshman year and runner-up his sophomore year. During the Summer between his sophomore and junior year, Dylan moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he finished high school at Lincoln Pius X High School. He golfed junior year and had his senior season cancelled because of COVID-19. Dylan will enter his sophomore year at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln this Fall, continuing to pursue his career in PGA Golf Management. Dylan enjoys spending time with his friends and family as well as being outside and staying active by participating in many different sports.
Elly Johnsen
Elly Johnsen is from Lincoln, Nebraska and is a 2021 graduate from Lincoln East High school. Elly was apart of the golf team all four years, lettering three times, and qualifying for state twice. She will be attending UNL in the fall and entering the PGM program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, and playing golf.
Griffin Wright
Griffin Wright is from Broken Bow, Nebraska where he attended Broken Bow High School. His parents, Tim and Heather Wright, helped introduce him to athletics which since have become the passion in his life. During his high school career, he was a multisport athlete participating in football, basketball, and golf. In his golf career, specifically, his strong passion for the game grew through his time in Nebraska Junior Golf during his youth. As he progressed in his golf career, he achieved many accolades such as all conference honors, district championships, and state tournament appearances, none of which would have been possible without the opportunities and experience provided to him through the NJG. Griffin currently attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is entering his Junior year in pursuing a degree in Secondary Education – Social Sciences and Coaching in hopes of getting to inspire youth through the subjects and sports he loves.
Ian Lundquist
Ian Lundquist is from Oakland, Nebraska where he attended Oakland-Craig High School. He had the opportunity to play in many NJGT and NGA tournaments throughout his years. He also had the chance to play in the Class C NSAA State golf tournament for 3 years where he would finish runner-up his junior year. He then went to Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City where he would play golf for a semester. After that he transferred to UNL where he is now majoring in PGA Golf Management. Ian enjoys kayaking in his free time and also spending time with family and friends.
Nolan Lange
Nolan Lange was born in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Skutt Catholic High School. During his high school career, his golf team finished 2nd at the Class B State Golf Championship in 2018. Nolan went on to continue his golf journey at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in Professional Golf Management. Currently, Nolan is going into his senior year at UNL and is the current president of the Nebraska Golf Management Program at UNL. Nolan enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as fishing, hunting, and golfing as much as possible.
Payton Zarkowski
Payton Zarkowski is from Benkelman, Nebraska a small town in southwest Nebraska. She has attended Doane University in Crete, NE the past four years and graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration. Payton plans to become a fully licensed CPA by the end of 2023. Payton participated on her high school golf team all four years as well as on the Doane University Women's golf team 2017-2021. Some of her hobbies outside of golf include traveling, both domestic and international, reading, trying new things, and spending time with her friends and family.
