ABOUT WAT50
The WAT50 is a new tournament experience for America’s 50 state champions and their families to come together at an amazing golf venue and destination. For the first time ever these amazing players will have an opportunity to meet their 49 peer champions at a single event. In 2020 we launch with the WAT50 Junior Girls and Boys Championship where we are planning to stage a fun weekend long celebration filled with experiences, entertainment, and of course a major competition.
The mission simply stated: WAT50 will promote golf from the ground up and help grow this wonderful game by driving participation at the state level. Last year over 6,600 junior golfers played in America’s 50 state junior boys and girls championships. That 6,600 number is our bar for the next few years and we are confident that WAT50 can make a positive and successful impact. We are energized by the mission and the work that is going in to building something truly unique and special. Through that impact the ultimate goal is to inspire future generations of golfers to come who will fill American’s vast golf community.
There are few if any playing opportunities out there like the WAT50, one that will broaden and deepen relationships through shared competitive golf experiences with all states and their player representatives in attendance. State champions who for decades have never before had the chance to meet and share their love of the game can now do so on another national stage.
